National Health Service of Ukraine (NSZU) is a state body, which provides financing of medical services for citizens of Ukraine under the medical guarantee program. NSZU acts as a national insurer, who concludes contracts with medical facilities and pays for the services provided directly to health care facilities. This means, that patients can receive quality medical care for free or with partial pay, depending on the program.
The main functions of the NSAU:
NSAU works on the principle “Money follow the patient”. This means, that only that medical institution receives funding, which provides real and quality services.
NSHU actively supports infertility treatment programs, in particular, extracorporeal fertilization (IVF). This allows many couples to get a chance to become parents without significant financial expenses. Medical Guarantee Program includes a coating of one cycle of IVF (with or without ICSI), that includes all the main stages of the procedure:
Consultations and examinations.
Controlled ovarian stimulation and ultrasound monitoring.
Puncture of the follicles and receiving eggs.
Laboratory procedures: fertilization, cultivation of embryos.
Cryopreservation of embryos.
Transfer of embryos to the uterine cavity.
Drug support before clinical pregnancy confirmation.
State support provides an opportunity to receive these services, which meet the selection criteria of the program. Financing is done through NSAU, which guarantees transparency and efficiency of the use of funds.
