Rules of preparation for the initial consultation of a reproductive specialist

Why prepare for a visit??

We understand, that the first step to solving the problem is the most difficult. We take the problems of our patients very seriously and strive to do more than just help, and to achieve the result in the most effective way. Such a result depends on the doctor's work and the conscious participation of the patient, therefore, we have prepared a list of rules and recommendations, which will make it possible to get the maximum benefit from the initial consultation of a reproductive specialist.

Rules of preparation

1. Laboratory studies

The reproductive specialist chooses the optimal method of treatment in accordance with the collected anamnesis and the patient's medical history. In particular, the choice of strategy is also influenced by the results of hormonal blood tests (for a woman) and spermograms (for a man).

To save your time, we recommend preparing the following laboratory test results for the initial consultation:

Women:

Blood analysis for hormones (not older than 6 months, we recommend doing the analysis on day 2-5 of the menstrual cycle)

  • AMG (antimüllerian hormone)(we advise you to have the result at the initial consultation)
  • FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone)
  • LG (luteinizing hormone)
  • PRL (prolactin)
  • E2 (estradiol)
  • TSH (thyrotropin hormone)

To a man:

  • Spermogram (Analysis of seminal fluid; not older than 3 months)(we advise you to have the result at the initial consultation)

2. Instrumental studies

(additionally)

Women:

  • Ultrasound of the pelvic organsDuring the initial consultation with a reproductive specialist, if desired, an ultrasound of the pelvic organs can be additionally performed. The duration of the visit will increase by 10 minutes. Pelvic ultrasound should preferably be performed on day 7–12 of the menstrual cycle.

If available, take the results with you:

  • Ultrasound of mammary glands
  • mammography
  • PAP test(not older than 1 year)

3. Questions for the doctor

Any visit to the doctor is stressful, and a visit to a reproductive specialist is no exception. We strongly advise you to prepare all the questions, that interest and frighten you. We will provide comprehensive qualified information on the safety and possible risks of the treatment. It is very important to discuss all fears with your doctor, that bother you. This will allow you to get the maximum benefit from communication with a specialist.

4. The solution of two

Conceiving a baby is always a decision and responsibility of two. Therefore, we strongly advise both future parents to come for a visit. This will allow you to comfortably make an informed joint decision about the further treatment plan.

Rules and advice regarding the initial consultation of a reproductive specialist

Come to the clinic 10-15 minutes before the start of the consultation

Take the document with you, which identifies your identity (passport, action app, driver's license, etc). During the first visit to the clinic, we need to enter your personal data into the database and prepare for signing an application for processing your data and consent to sending electronic versions of documents.

Tell the reception your last name

We strive for efficient use of the time of our patients and employees, so it is important for us to know, how long did you wait for the consultation to begin?. This time may be needed to clarify the necessary data and fill out applications for the processing of your data or receive research results by e-mail.

If you are late for the consultation, let us know in advance

In case of delay, inform our contact center about the estimated time, when you will be in the clinic.

If you are late to 20 minutes, a planned initial consultation with a reproductive specialist can be conducted in a concise format within the time frame, that remained. In this case, the cost of the consultation does not change, the end time of the consultation is not shifted.

If you are not satisfied with the short consultation or if the delay time exceeds 20 minutes, we can offer the following options for solving the problem (given the busyness of the clinic)

  • consultation on the same day, but later, at the same specialist
  • consultation on the same day, but at another specialist
  • consultation on another day with any specialist.

The consultation lasts approx 60 minutes and consists of 3 stages

  1. Collection of anamnesis (the doctor's assistant collects the necessary information).
  2. Specialist review with expert opinion (the reproductive specialist clarifies the necessary data, offers options for solving the problem with a detailed analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of each option, informs about the expected time, needed for treatment, and evaluates the chances of achieving the set goal).
  3. Answers to your questions (the doctor will provide comprehensive qualified information about the safety and possible risks of the treatment, will answer all your questions).

The clinic administrator is ready to answer all organizational and financial questions

After the initial consultation, the clinic administrator will advise you on the financial and organizational side of the treatment proposed by the reproductive specialist.

You will receive an expert opinion of a reproductive specialist and a treatment plan by e-mail

You will receive all the necessary medical documents and the results of the initial consultation by e-mail. To do this, at the reception, you need to sign the consent to the processing of your personal data and write an application for receiving medical documents by e-mail.
